After a hearty breakfast at the Explorer Hotel Neuschwanstein in Nesselwang, we'll head to the center of Nesselwang. Today's spring tour is 70 km long, has about 700 meters of elevation gain, and leads past the many lakes in the Eastern Allgäu and the two royal castles. Sightseeing on a road bike, so to speak :) On quiet roads and amidst the beautiful Alpine scenery, you'll soon arrive at Hopfensee. This lake is one of the warmest in the Alpine foothills and, like the entire region around Nesselwang, offers a wealth of recreational activities, including hiking, racing, and road biking, not just in spring. The route continues through the town of Hopfen am See to Forggensee and then to Füssen in the eastern Allgäu region. Forggensee is the largest reservoir in Germany by area, which is why the Lech Dam prevents the Lech River from completely filling Forggensee. The route circles the lake in the Allgäu region along the shore of Forggensee. Neuschwanstein Castle and Hohenschwangau Castle, built by fairytale king Ludwig II, are always in view. Andi takes you on a fantastic mountain bike tour to the Mordaualm. The route leads past beautiful landscapes and lakes in Berchtesgaden. The starting point of the bike tour is the Explorer Hotel Berchtesgaden in Schönau am Königssee. The mountain bike route is approximately 55 kilometers long, takes 3 to 5 hours, and you'll climb 800 meters. On the mountain bike route, you can enjoy the beautiful Berchtesgaden nature. The great thing about the Explorer Hotel Berchtesgaden is that you're immediately surrounded by nature. Arriving in Ramsau by mountain bike, Andi finds himself in front of the town's landmark: St. Sebastian's Church. He continues on his mountain bike to the Hintersee. There, he takes his first break, enjoying the beautiful view of the Hintersee. From Hintersee, he rides his mountain bike to the Taubensee and then on to the Mordaualm. You can see the Watzmann in the background. At his destination, the beautiful Mordaualm, Andi fortifies himself with a delicious snack. From the Mordaualm, the mountain bike descends to a magnificent vantage point on the Kastensteinerwand. Here, you can see the Watzmann in all its glory. Andi now rides his mountain bike back to the Explorer Hotel Berchtesgaden. Arriving at the Explorer Hotel, the cyclist sums up the mountain bike tour. He thoroughly enjoyed the mountain bike route. Along the tour, you'll see not only the many alpine huts but also the beautiful natural surroundings that Berchtesgaden has to offer: lakes, forests, and mountains. The mountain bike route is suitable for families. But the tour to the Mordaualm is also recommended for beginners and advanced mountain bikers. Anna takes you on a fantastic mountain bike tour to the Kreuzeck. The MTB tour passes many of Garmisch-Partenkirchen's highlights. Bike guide Anna welcomes you from the Explorer Hotel Garmisch in Farchant. Pack your things, take your mountain bike out of the locker, and the MTB tour begins. From Farchant, it's just a few minutes to Garmisch-Partenkirchen. She rides her mountain bike through Ludwigstrasse, the city center's pedestrian zone. The mountain bike tour is approximately 40 kilometers long, with 1,000 meters of elevation gain. The MTB route takes approximately 4 to 5 hours. The highest point is the Kreuzeck at 1,651 meters. Anna has arrived at the end of Garmisch-Partenkirchen with her mountain bike. She is now at the first highlight of the tour: the Olympic ski jump. During the New Year's ski jumping event of the Four Hills Tournament, numerous spectators gather here to cheer on the ski jumpers. The mountain bike trail continues to the Partnach Gorge. The Partnach Gorge is one of the most beautiful gorges in Germany. Anna continues to the Partnachalm. This is where the first few meters of elevation gain begin, with a 29 percent gradient. The mountain biker has completed the first steep climb. From here, you already have a beautiful view. The Partnachalm is a lovely place to stop for a refreshment with a stunning mountain panorama. The alpine pasture is also easily accessible for walkers and hikers. Half the elevation gain is completed. Now you continue on your mountain bike towards Kreuzeck. On the way there, Anna will show you the Drehmöseralm and the top station of the Hausbergbahn cable car. In winter, you can enjoy great skiing here in the Garmisch-Classic ski area. A few meters from the Kreuzeck, Anna takes a break from her challenging mountain bike tour. At the Kreuzalm, you'll find a delicious snack. The final few meters are spent climbing on your mountain bike. The goal has been reached! The mountain biker has reached the highest point of the MTB tour, the Kreuzeckhaus at 1,651 m. The Kreuzeck cable car also leads up to the Kreuzeck. Here you can paraglide. From the Kreuzeck, you have a fantastic mountain panorama of the Reintal Valley. Now comes the descent. It's a rapid descent. There's a short stop at the historic Olympic bobsleigh run. Here you can see an original bobsleigh from that time and a bobsleigh shed. From the historic bobsleigh run, the mountain bike continues to the Riessersee. There are refreshment stops there. From the Riessersee, the route continues to the Explorer Hotel. With a view of the Werdenfels castle ruins, Anna briefly summarizes the mountain bike tour. The MTB route to the Kreuzeck is challenging, as there are many meters of elevation gain and some of the route is very steep. Nevertheless, you will be rewarded with many beautiful highlights of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.

The gravel bike tour to Christlessee Lake in Oberstdorf is approximately 50 kilometers long and takes about 2 to 3 hours. You'll climb 400 meters in elevation. There are great rest stops along the gravel bike tour. From the Explorer Hotel Oberstdorf, the route follows the Breitach River. 700 meters from the hotel, you'll pass the source of the Iller River. This is where the Breitach, Stillach, and Trettach rivers converge to form the Iller. From the source of the Iller, the route continues to Reichenbach in Allgäu. Leonie, however, doesn't take the turnoff but continues on her gravel bike towards Christlessee Lake in Oberstdorf. Once you arrive at Christlessee Lake in the Trettach Valley, Leonie takes a short break and enjoys the view of the turquoise water before returning to the Explorer Hotel Oberstdorf in Fischen in the Allgäu region.
