Variety around the Zugspitze on two wheels
Steep climbs, fast-paced but also quieter descents, and views of the breathtaking scenery of the Zugspitze, the Mieminger Range, and the Karwendel Mountains. The starting point is the Explorer Hotel Garmisch in Farchant, from where it's a leisurely ride to Grainau. The ascent from Grainau to Eibsee is also quite easy, and there you can take advantage of the breathtaking scenery of the lake and Germany's highest mountain for a short break! The route continues down to Ehrwald. From here, the route climbs up to the Ehrwalder Alm, and shortly afterward descends again through the Gaistal Valley. Here, you'll be rewarded with magnificent views of the Hochwand, the Predigtstuhl, and the Hohe Munde. Continuing through the Leutasch Valley, you'll reach your starting point in Garmisch-Partenkirchen via Mittenwald and Ellmau. PS: This route is also great for gravel biking ;)
