That’s why in our rooms we have more than enough storage space for your equipment. In addition, we have a ski and bike test centre that includes rentals, courses, a workbench and sports lockers – and great deals for athletes, too!

Our environment is important to us

We are not only the first certified passive (zero-energy) hotel in Europe, but we are also climate neutral. That is truly unique in the hotel industry. However, for us, it’s simply a matter of course!

The choice is yours!

Alpspitze

  • Summer: Pure nature will surround you along your hikes at 1,575 metres. Whether you’re taking a casual stroll or on a challenging mountain tour – there is something for everyone. And if you enjoy it when things are a bit more relaxed, then take the Alpspitz gondola lift which takes you close to the top of the mountain.
  • Winter: Optimally prepared pistes from the beginning of December until the end of March. The Alpspitze gondola lift takes you up to an elevation of 1,500 metres. Covering an 8 km of ski pistes, you can select between well-prepared family slope, black diamond pistes or a speed piste.

Tannheimer Valley

  • Summer: For those of you looking to reach higher and go further, the Tannheimer Valley provides lots of hiking, climbing and mountain climbing fun. There you will discover: over 300 km of hiking trails, Alpine flora with over 1,200 types, crystal clear and pure creeks and lakes, expansive Alps and striking peaks.
  • Winter: For genuine alpine skiing fans 55 km of pistes spread across 6 ski resorts are enough to quicken the pulse of the most hardcore skiing enthusiast. Numerous restaurants and mountain lodges will ensure that there is enough time to enjoy any downtime.

Mountainbike

Tour drivers and families will have lots of fun at the new bike arena in the Allgäu! Throughout the districts of Nesselwang, Oy-Mittelberg and Wertach a track system consisting of 18 circuit tours has been created.

Nesselwang Bike Arena
You can really have a great time at the Bike-Park located in close-by Bad Hindelang. Here you can enjoy 13 free-ride kilometres with different levels on difficulty along three posted routes. The difference in altitude of the descents is 523 metres for each route.
Whether you are a professional or a beginner – at the Bike-Park everyone will have a good time. We recommend that beginners slowly adapt to the different levels of difficulty by beginning with the yellow course (easy) and then moving on to the green course (moderate). The black course (difficult) is only intended for the best riders.

Hiking

Around the Explorer Hotel Neuschwanstein you will find everything your hiking heart desires. Are you the easy-going type? Or would you rather hike uphill at a quick pace and would even be inclined to do some climbing? Then you've come to the right place – a place that every hiking enthusiast will love!

Hiking in Ostallgäu (East Allgäu)
The Ostallgäu has more than just castles to visit. The region is well-liked by hikers, climbers and mountain climbers. Beautiful peak destinations and rustic huts and lodges make the trails especially diverse and popular!

Dive into the Alpspitz-Badecenter

The fun water park is not just a blast for the little swimmers in your family, but even the adults will love to relax and enjoy the wonderful sauna landscape. The indoor swimming pool is only a short trip from the Explorer Hotel Neuschwannstein.

A rush of adrenaline is guaranteed when you go canyoning, tubing, rafting, mountain biking or climb to dizzying heights at the Skywalk Park

What could be nicer than enjoying skiing far into spring? The days get longer and the temperatures rise. Suntan lotion and sun glasses belong in every bag. It's not by chance that March and April are known as the months with the most favourable skiing conditions. Enjoy the pure skiing pleasure under sunny skies and then stretch out and relax on a sunbed.

Cross-country trails
Not only is it healthy, but traditional cross-country skiing or skating allows you to enjoy the impressive winter landscape.
The conditions are ideal in Nesselwang; 40 km of prepared trails, of which 16 km are perfect for skaters, provide an exciting cross-country skiing paradise with an uninterrupted network of trails.

No desire to ski? No problem, over 50 km of groomed winter hiking trails promise you pure enjoyment and enable you to get to know the wonderfully exciting Allgäu region from a completely different side.

Tegelberg gondola lift Schwangau

The Tegelberg’s fast downhill run features an exciting altitude drop of 900 metres – providing advanced skiers with plenty of speed and thrills. Even the snowboard park at the Adlerlift (ski lift) has a few surprises in store. If you are looking for even more action you can try night-time skiing under the lights.

Nesselwängle skiing paradise

The double chair lift, three T-bar lifts, one training lift and a new natural toboggan run, this is the ideal ski area for beginners, professionals and tobogganing fans. Here – far off from mass tourism – you can still experience the joy of skiing without waiting in long lines at the lifts.

Hahnenkamm Reutte

The tried-and-tested winter sporting area, Hahnenkamm Reutte offers challenging sporting activities for young and old alike. Seven different pistes with different levels of difficulty guarantee that both beginners and advanced skiers enjoy their skiing holiday.

Jungholz

Come November, the ski resort in Tyrolean town in the Allgäu transforms into a white winter wonderland. Wonderful pistes promise pure skiing pleasure for old and young alike. This is also an ideal area of families and those who ski at a more leisurely pace. With beach chairs and sunbeds, the sun island’s “oasis of peace” invites you to sit down, relax and stay for awhile.

Skizentrum Pfronten

Having fun in the snow is at the heart of Skizentrum Pfronten. Seven T-bar lifts and moderate slopes offer the optimal skiing conditions for the entire family. On about 7 km of pistes ranging from easy to difficult, both beginners and advanced skiers and snowboarders will most certainly find the “right” piste for them.
And if you have enough energy to continue skiing into the night – ski or board under the lights on the Allgäu’s longest floodlight piste!

Breitenbergbahn (gondola) in Pfronten

8 km of meticulously groomed pistes and avalanche-secure downhill trails ranging from easy to difficult ensure never-ending wintertime fun. The area’s highlight is the fun park in Kesselmoos for snowboarders, including many activities and cool music. A modern four-person chair lift, 2 T-bar lifts and 2 mini lifts connect the Breitenberg-Hochalpe ski region, the largest ski area in the eastern Allgäu with a veritable “snow guarantee”.
