Bike tour around Garmisch-Partenkirchen
The bike tour starts at the Explorer Hotel Garmisch in Farchant. From here, it first runs along the Loisach River and past the Farchant outdoor swimming pool towards Burgrain. The route runs parallel to the main road to the entrance of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
After the Partenkirchen cemetery, turn left onto Münchner Straße, which then becomes Hölzlweg.
At the Antoniusbrunnen in the Partenkirchen district, turn onto Faukenstraße and then onto Hasentalstraße. The route then continues through the forest to the village of Kaltenbrunn. Along the way, you'll enjoy a fantastic view of the Zugspitze massif—ideal for a short break.
In Kaltenbrunn, follow the signs to Wamberg and Eckbauern—now you'll gain some elevation, but you'll soon be rewarded with beautiful views of Garmisch-Partenkirchen.
After a stop at the Eckbauern mountain inn, the trail descends to Kainzenbad and the Olympic Stadium, and then continues along the Partnach River. After crossing the railway line, the trail continues parallel to the railway until the loop closes in Burgrain, where you return to the Explorer Hotel in Farchant, just as you did on the outward journey.
