Mountain biking in Gaschurn in Vorarlberg - in the heart of the Alps
We love the mountains – we're especially drawn to steep slopes and varied trails. From the Explorer Hotel Montafon, you'll be at the Versettla valley station in no time, and from there, many great bike tours start into the Montafon. Whether you're an adrenaline junkie or a leisurely cyclist, you'll find what you're looking for in the Montafon.

- 260 km of cycling, mountain biking, and e-mountain biking trails
- 67 marked tours – from easy to challenging, for the perfect variety on your bike
- Mountain railway operation in summer for mountain bikers
On the road by bus
During the summer season, you can take bicycles (not e-bikes) on public buses in Montafon for €7 per day ticket. You have to load them yourself. However, there is no guarantee that you'll be able to take them, as spaces are limited (max. 4 bikes per bus).
Respect your boundaries
You are only allowed to ride your mountain bike through the NATURA 2000 area, such as the route from the Heilbronner Hütte via the Silbertaler Winterjöchle to Silbertal, between June 15 and September 15, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (until 5 p.m. in September). Cheating is not allowed, as there are inspections. ;-)
For all freeride and downhill fans there is the Brandnertal
This is a great place for a day trip. There are many routes for different levels: from easy flow lines to extremely challenging downhill routes, there's something for everyone!
Brand NEW: Trailpark Hochjoch
Since July 2022, there has been a new MTB highlight at Hochjoch.
- Trail 1 - Hubertus Trail - Difficulty: very easy - Color coding: green
- Trail 2 - Kilka Wald Trail - Difficulty: easy - Color coding: blue
- Trail 3 - Wolfsgruaba Trail - Difficulty: difficult - Color coding: red
You can easily get to the trails with the Hochjoch cable car from Schruns. Cable car tickets are available for one run or the whole day. If you already have a multi-day ticket, you only need bike transport. However, this is only valid on the Hochjoch cable car.

- Starting point: Hochjoch cable car mountain station, Kapellrestaurant
- End point: Hochjoch cable car middle station, Gasthaus Kropfen
- Highest point: 1,850 meters in altitude
