Aalen’s city center as a World Cup course!
Mountain bike racing team: UCI MTB Eliminator World Cup in Aalen 2023
Things got serious in Aalen! Thousands of fans were there at the MTB racing team's home World Cup. Titouan Perrin-Ganier secured the silver medal! Simon Gegenheimer and Marion Fromberger both finished in fourth place.
The Mountain Bike World Cup in Aalen
It was very hot in Aalen! In temperatures well over 30 degrees, the world's best mountain bikers took on the MTB World Cup course through Aalen's city center for the second time. 15,000 spectators watched them.
A brief rain shower set in during the quarterfinals, and things got really exciting again! The wet road made the conditions for the race more difficult, as the cobblestones were now slippery.
Mountain bike professionals Simon Gegenheimer and Titouan Perrin-Ganier fought their way into the final despite the difficult conditions. Titouan Perrin-Ganier ultimately secured the silver medal. Simon Gegenheimer finished fourth.
German champion Marion Fromberger also fought for her place in the final. After crashing in Aalen last year, she unfortunately suffered the same fate again.
In the final, Marion Fromberger slipped on her mountain bike and ended up in fourth place.
Explorer Hotels were also present at the expo as sponsors of the MTB racing team. It was great to meet you there!
All good things come in threes! On July 13, 2024, the World Cup will take place again in Aalen for the third time. So mark the date in your calendar! ;)
