Steffen welcomes you from the Explorer Hotel Ötztal and takes you to the Winnebachseehütte (2,362 m) and then on to the Ernst-Riml-Spitze (2,507 m). The hike starts from the parking lot in Grieß, about 15 minutes from the Explorer Hotel. Past the Gasthof Winnebach, you'll continue uphill through the forest in switchbacks. After the Waldgernze, you'll pass the Winnebachalp and continue hiking into the valley until the path becomes a little steeper to the Winnebachseehütte. The Winnebachseehütte was built around 1900 by members of the German Alpine Association (DAV) and is a perfect place to stop for a break. Tyrolean delicacies made from regional products are served there. From Lake Winnebach, it's about 150 meters in elevation to the Ernst-Riml-Spitze. Incidentally, the Winnebachseehütte takes its name from the former owner. To get there, turn right behind the hut and cross a wooden bridge along a moraine ridge until the summit cross is in sight. Return via the ascent route. If you're hiking with your family, there are exciting stops along the way to the hut, and once you reach the top, you can go on a treasure hunt. Nearby, there's also the
