Breathtaking adrenaline kick in the winter
There are lots of alpine valleys, but there isn’t one that offers as many highlights as the Ötztal. With over 70 lifts, 350 kilometres of slopes, 3,000 vertical metres and a cross-country skiing network that includes all levels of difficulty – this is where you will find everything you need.
Or, if you like, take a spontaneous day trip to the nearby winter sports centre of Sölden. The town is internationally known due to events such as the AUDI FIS Skiing World Cup, the glacier spectacle HANNIBAL or the Electric Mountain Festival. Are you a fan of James Bond films? If you are, then here you will have the opportunity to see the shooting location of “Spectre” and pretend that you – just like your hero – are on a secret mission. In summertime, the Ötztal adventure beckons
And even in summer, you will find plenty in and around the region to keep you busy. You can expect to find approx. 1,600 km marked hiking paths in the region; these include 1,000 km of easy to intermediate trails and 600 km of more challenging trails. The network of hiking trails ranges from approx. 750 metres above sea level to an elevation of 3,000 metres.
Mountain biking enthusiasts can enjoy more than just wonderful vistas with panoramic views of the mountains. They will also enjoy a total of 870 km of mountain bike routes (ranging from easy to difficult), 42 tours, 30 km of unspoilt nature trails – and all of this spread across an unbelievable 37,549 vertical metres.
As a fan of climbing, you can select between 20 high-rope gardens, 8 fixed-rope routes, 750 sport climbing routes, 55 multi-pitch climbing routes, 2 climbing facilities/halls, and 39 ice climbing areas. In doing so, you can climb a total of 18,900 vertical metres using 12,600 hooks and eyelets and challenge yourself with levels of difficulty ranging from 2 to 11.
And if that still is not enough for you, your choices also include kayak or canoe tours, the Flying Fox, rafting, canyoning, caving, tandem flights, wakeboarding, blobbing, the 20,000 m2 aqua park, and lots more.
