Our contribution to the SDGs
Arguably the most important factor for satisfied employees and a good workplace atmosphere is fair working conditions.
True to our motto of operating as locally as possible, we always try to recruit our employees from the region. Our year-round jobs are crucial to ensuring this works. This is far from standard in the hotel industry, but it gives our employees a great deal of security and predictability.
When employees move to the region for a job, we support them during their arrival and try to mitigate any difficulties they may encounter in finding accommodation by providing employee housing.
Is the hotel industry incompatible with family? Not with us! With various working time models, we offer alternatives for anyone who loves working with guests and can't/doesn't want to work a traditional full-time position.
A culture of feedback and ideas ensures that buddies can contribute and be heard.
Above-average pay, profit-sharing, and other benefits ensure a working environment in which our employees feel respected and valued.
Our motto: Anyone who wants to can!
Explorer Buddies who want to develop further have the best opportunities to do so at Explorer Hotels.
As part of their professional journey of discovery, we support our employees individually where they have needs and interests. With a continuing education account, Explorer Hotels supports the professional and personal development of each employee.
Recognizing the importance of good teamwork and cohesion, we hold coaching sessions at each hotel once a year, where an external coach focuses on teamwork within the hotel.
Hotel Team Manager in Pipeline
The HIP program is for anyone aspiring to a position in hotel management. Over two years, they undergo intensive training in the company's operations and philosophy. The final step is to become the sole manager of an Explorer Hotel.
We are particularly proud that the "story" of becoming a trainee and becoming a Hotel Team Manager continues to come true at Explorer Hotels!

From trainee to hotel team manager – these Explorer stories show us that it's worth investing in working conditions and employee development!
