Okay, we admit, not everyone immediately thinks of mountain biking when they hear Königssee and Watzmann. But we don't understand why?! Because around the Explorer Hotel, you'll find great tours, from easy to challenging, for you and your mountain bike. Come by and see for yourself!
Mountain biking is excellent in and around Berchtesgaden - the facts:

So you have plenty of choice when it comes to tours during your vacation at the Explorer Berchtesgaden in Schönau. Getting lost is impossible, as all MTB tours are signposted, even in both directions. Some can be ridden as a circular route, and you can, of course, vary them, making them easier or more difficult.
No matter which tour you choose, you're sure to be traveling through one of the most beautiful corners of Germany: valleys, lakes, and alpine pastures—what more could you want on your bike tours? ;)
Whether you're looking for a sporting challenge or prefer a more leisurely pace? Whether you're an organic biker or riding an e-bike, you're sure to find the perfect trail for your needs among the designated mountain bike trails.
Just a few suggestions:
Tours along the Ache or the Ettenberg Loop (approx. 490 m elevation gain) are relatively flat and also great for families and for warming up. The tour from the hotel to the Kührointhütte or the one to the Mordaualm is more challenging. If you want to get your calves burning, we suggest the Round around the Hoher Göll or to the Gotzenalm.
Did you know that you can cycle emission-free from Berchtesgaden to Salzburg on the Mozart Cycle Path? The route takes you along the Berchtesgadener Ache past Hellbrunn Palace to the city center.
