For family holidays, two summer cable cars and 24 winter cable cars offer the ultimate mountain experience. Use the Sonnenschein Card, which is included at the Explorer Hotel Bad Kleinkirchheim, and experience the Active Family Program.

The Brunnach Biosphere Park cable car takes you to the Bad Kleinkirchheim Active Park. There, you'll test your agility and coordination on a variety of exercises at almost 2,000 meters above sea level. Curious? If the weather doesn't cooperate, there are two thermal baths right in town for endless water fun: the St. Kathrein Thermal Baths, directly across from the hotel, and the Roman Baths near the Kaiserburg cable car.
Looking for even more swimming fun? Then Carinthia is the place for you! The state of 1,000 lakes offers super clean and pleasantly warm swimming lakes around Bad Kleinkirchheim. How about surfing on Lake Brennsee, swimming in Lake Ossiach, or a boat trip on Lake Millstatt?

You haven't been to Bad Kleinkirchheim if you've missed the Kaiserburg Bob. A rollercoaster experience with panoramic views. And the 800 km of marked hiking trails around the Carinthian Nockberge Mountains (many stroller-friendly) ensure every child falls into bed exhausted but happy in the evening. The family-friendly Explorer Hotel is the perfect accommodation for your mountain adventures in Austria.

What will be your first family adventure? We're sure to have the perfect offer!
The Explorer Hotel isn't a resort or a typical family hotel; instead, you and your entire family can embark on an adventure in the surrounding mountains.
As you know, all rooms at Explorer Hotels are the same size. However, there are a limited number of connecting rooms available. :-) This allows you to easily move from one room to the other if two rooms are adjacent. There are also rooms with a bedside drawer, so three people can stay in one room.

There's plenty to discover on your family vacation in Carinthia in winter! Explore your holiday region around the Sporthotel in Bad Kleinkirchheim with a horse-drawn carriage ride. Want to leave tracks in the snow like the horses do? Then rent snowshoes and trudge through the snow of the Nockberge Biosphere Park. Warm up with a hot chocolate at one of the 23 huts before starting a snowball fight with your children.

Would you rather whizz down the mountains on two skis? No problem! Over 100 kilometers of particularly family-friendly slopes offer maximum skiing fun. As test winners for family friendliness, the Bad Kleinkirchheim ski area and the Heidi Alm ski area offer fantastic, wide slopes where beginners and advanced skiers alike can have tons of fun. Does your child want to become a real ski pro? Then head to a ski course. Even the littlest ones from the age of 3 can gain their first experiences in the ski kindergarten.
