In the heart of the Nockberge
The beautiful, varied, and scenic Alpine Road in Bad Kleinkirchheim has a lot to offer and can be discovered by bike, car, or bus.
At approximately 2,042 meters above sea level and in 52 hairpin bends, there are nameless viewpoints throughout, allowing you to gaze far into the surrounding peaks of the Nockberge and, of course, the Eastern Alps.
You can also learn a lot more about this unique experience and the region in countless free exhibitions along the Nockalm Road.
Did you know that the construction of the Nockalm Road in 1970 on the one hand, connected the Tauern Autobahn, which was under construction, to the Liesertal, and on the other hand, also united the Nockberge with the center of Carinthia Should? The initial idea, however, was to "give tourism a decisive boost," which ultimately didn't work out. Since then, the Alpine Road has also been known as the "Flower Road" because the Nockalm Road is lined with numerous flowers.
