From Oberstdorf to the Nebelhorn - the special mountain run in the Allgäu
From the market square (815 m) in Oberstdorf, the route passes the Nebelhorn valley station toward the ski jumps and the Faltenbach gorge. The first kilometer is still very flat.
The track leads up to the Seealpe (1280 m). With an incline of approximately 12%, this section is already challenging, but still manageable. At the Seealpe - 4.7 km have already been completed - a refreshment station awaits the runners. Afterwards, the run is flat for approximately 1 kilometer to the end of the valley, before things get serious again.
The mountain pine slope is next; in winter, it's a black slope, and the climb is steep. Over 2.5 km, you'll have to climb 500 meters.
Once you reach the Höfatsblick mountain station (1932 m), the worst is over. From here, you'll already have a magnificent view of the valley, and a mountain trail and, in the final meters, a nature trail lead up to the summit (2200 m).
