Grow beyond yourself and enjoy the fantastic view!
The trail starts about 1 km from the center of Hinterstoder. You initially hike for about 30 minutes along a forest path to the cable car, where the trail to the Prielschutzhaus begins. Approach shoes are recommended for the rest of the trail.
First, you climb in a few switchbacks until you reach a waterfall. Next, you pass many small caves and a small ditch, which you cross until you reach the Prielschutzhaus. From here, continue on trail number 201 over the Klinserschgarte until you reach a new fork in the trail with a signpost. Now follow the trail through the Klinser Gorge to the actual entrance.
Are you ready?
First, you have to overcome a (B) section. Stirrups are provided for this. Once these end, continue in a zigzag until you reach a section with difficulty level (A). The zigzag path is good walking terrain and secured by a wire rope.
Afterward, you have to tackle a steep slab with difficulty level (A/B). Stirrups are again available for this. After a short traverse to the left, there is another (A/B) section with stirrups. Now comes the final steep slab with a rating of (B). After that, you have to mobilize your last reserves and overcome the last (A/B) stirrups before you reach a gravel path to the Spitzmauer summit (approximately 30 minutes). Once at the top, you'll be rewarded for your efforts with a magnificent view. Before you begin the descent, you should fortify yourself with a light snack.
The descent takes place via the normal route and takes approximately 2 hours.
Please note that the tour is in high alpine terrain, so you should definitely not be afraid of heights!
Difficulty levels explained:
- A/B (easy to moderately difficult)
- B/C (moderately difficult to difficult)
- C/D (difficult to very difficult)
- D/E (extremely difficult and only for experienced and experienced hikers)
