Winter via ferrata in the diverse Hochzillertal ski area
Are you already familiar with the Wimbachkopf winter via ferrata in the Hochzillertal ski area? Nestled in the ski area and surrounded by a 360° panorama, you'll experience a unique view of the breathtaking mountain landscape.
From the Explorer Hotel, it's only a 10-minute walk to the Hochzillertal ski area. The tour starts at the Wimbach Express mountain station at 2,400 meters and takes you over further elevation gain along the ridge to the Wimbachkopf summit cross at 2,442 meters.
After an hour and a half of walking, you'll have already covered the almost 1.5-kilometer route and can enjoy the stunning view and look forward to a cozy stop for refreshments. At an altitude of 2,350 meters, the Wedelhütte awaits you with its beautiful sun terrace and delicious mountain cuisine. This is the perfect place to relax! The descent takes you to the right of the piste after the saddle.

No problem! Below the winter via ferrata, a 20-meter-high practice via ferrata has been built on a rock to the left, rated A/B. Here you'll have the opportunity to warm up before the longer ascent begins.
IMPORTANT
For the ascent, you will need complete via ferrata equipment including a climbing harness, climbing gloves, a via ferrata set, sturdy footwear, a helmet, and avalanche equipment (avalanche transceiver, probe, shovel). The winter via ferrata has a rating of B/C.
