The Three Lakes Hike, also known as the "Path of the Senses," is a beautiful hike in the Nockberge Mountains. You can shorten or extend the route as you wish, and it's ideal for a quick cool-down on hot days.

Approximately 25 minutes by car from the Explorer Hotel Bad Kleinkirchheim in Carinthia, the hike to the three lakes at Turracher Höhe begins. It starts at the parking lot. You walk past the Alpine Art Gallery and follow the signs towards Grünsee.

Since the hike is also called the "Path of the Senses," the first stops for experience and discovery are at Grünsee. From there, you hike to the Karlhütte and continue until you reach the Katscherhütte. From here, it's about 400 meters until the path forks and you head north.

Now you walk along the Schoberriegel to the Schwarzsee. Here you can refresh yourself and take a dip in the mountain lake. Once you've cooled off, you continue on until, after a short while, a moor comes into view. You cross this partly on wooden boardwalks.

During the hike, you can also use the trail markers and signs as a guide. These are marked with a white T. To get back to the Turrachsee, follow the trail markers with the number 127. If the trail is too long for you, you can always shorten it by visiting just one or two lakes.
