Themed hike Wasserläufer Stuibenfall

Moderately difficult circular hike around the Stuibenfall near Umhausen in Tyrol

A particularly beautiful and highly recommended hike is the Water Runner themed trail to the Stuibenfall waterfall near Umhausen. Here, everything revolves around the 159-meter-high Stuibenfall, the highest waterfall in Tyrol. A natural spectacle of a very special kind.

Hiking to a Breathtaking Natural Spectacle

The starting point of this themed hike is the Bischoffsplatz parking lot. The circular hike begins along the gently flowing waters of the Arzwinkel Waalweg.

From there, the trail continues along the Horlachbach stream towards the Stuibenfall waterfall. At the foot of the waterfall is the first viewing platform. From there, you can catch a close-up view of this breathtaking natural spectacle.

Be careful, please don't look down! It's quite a drop here... I'm referring to the newly constructed suspension bridge, which will take you to the next platforms. As you make your way up the staircase, you'll get closer and closer to the waterfall. Once at the top, you cross the waterfall over another short suspension bridge to reach the uppermost platform. From there, you'll be treated to an incredible view. The gigantic masses of water plunge into the depths with a loud roar.

After a short rest, a completely new nature experience awaits you. The trail leads you along a picturesque mountain meadow, right through the peaceful and harmonious landscape of the Ötztal Valley. The descent takes you along the Umhausen High Trail and further along the Steppsteig trail until you reach the Bischoffsplatz parking lot in Umhausen.
