Combine rocky gorge and summit bliss on this hike
The starting point of the tour is the Hinterberg hiking car park near Gasteig in Kirchdorf – a 20-minute drive from the Explorer Hotel.
From there, follow the signpost next to the chapel for about 40 minutes along a forest path to the Teufelsgasse sign. From here, a small field path leads into the rocky gorge.
After leaving Teufelsgasse via a ladder, the trail continues across alpine meadows to the Prostalm. From here, the short climb to the Prostkogel is a good option; from the summit cross, you have a fantastic view of the Wilder Kaiser, Loferer Steinberge, and Leoganger Steinberge.
The descent takes you via the Prostalm, past the Marcheralm, and back to the parking lot on the forest road.
When wet, the path through the Teufelsgasse is slippery, requiring surefootedness in some places.
