A sporty tour to Lake Piburg and Area47
It starts right at the Explorer Hotel in Umhausen. Follow the small road to the left, turn right through the underpass, continue past the Gasthof Krone, and continue up the mountain, staying on the bike path from now on.
The route continues across fields on asphalt and dirt roads for several kilometers until you reach Tumpen, where you cross the Ötztaler Ache stream and make your way to Habichen. There, instead of following the main road, turn left. The trail up to Lake Piburg is challenging, but easily manageable with an e-mountain bike.
First stop: Lake Piburg - the natural jewel in Ötz
Unfortunately, you're only allowed to walk around the lake without a bike - but you can also dip your feet in the water and enjoy the magnificent view of the mountains.
Continue the same way up the mountain to Piburg. There, follow the paved road towards Oetz. Here, you'll gain all the altitude again - it's downhill the whole way. Once you arrive in Ötz, follow the bike path along the Ötztaler Ache. You'll cycle for several kilometers along a beautiful path next to the river to Area47.
Second stop: Area47, the leisure park in the Ötztal Valley
Whether it's the Water Area or the Wake Area - there's plenty to see and experience here. If you get there early, a day or half-day ticket is worth it - or you can just watch the others :-)
The return journey takes you along the Ötztaler Ache river along the same route. In Oetz, instead of cycling back up to Lake Piburger See, follow the bikes painted on the road and follow the bike path along the federal highway via Habichen, through the forest to Tumpen, and across fields and meadows back to Umhausen and the Explorer Hotel Ötztal. Now you've earned yourself a cool drink at the Explorer Pool ;-)
