Climb the north side of the Kitzbüheler Horn starting in St. Johann in Tirol
From St. Johann, take the cable car up to the Harschbichl. From the mountain station, follow the hiking trail (Ludwig-Scheiber-Steig) towards the Kitzbüheler Horn.
After just 15 minutes, you'll reach the start of the practice via ferrata. This is perfect for a warm-up. The trail is designed as a 100-meter circular route with one difficult section ©. - If you're not yet comfortable with this, you shouldn't attempt the via ferrata on the Kitzbüheler Horn. -
From the junction to the practice via ferrata, continue on the hiking trail for 15 minutes until you reach a bench with the 'Klettersteig' signpost. Here, follow the access to the trail on the left.
The via ferrata runs along the north ridge of the Kitzbühel Horn and features grippy and stepped rock sections, beautiful, partly vertical sections, and airy traverses. The trail ends directly at the radio mast on the Kitzbüheler Horn.
From the exposed summit, you have a fantastic view of the Kaiser Mountains, the Loferer Steinberge, and even the Großglockner.
The descent is via the south side.
