This scenic gravel tour starts in Farchant at the Explorer Hotel and first takes you through Garmisch. Right at the beginning of the tour, you'll have several opportunities to admire the Zugspitze from different perspectives.
From the very beginning, you'll be steadily climbing, but at a moderate pace and without any rough peaks. You'll always ride along the Loisach until you reach the first highlight of the tour. Here, the Häselgehr Waterfall invites you to take a quick refreshment break.
Overall, the tour runs almost exclusively on a gravel road, which is perfect for a gravel tour. After 40 km, you've already reached the highest point of your tour. At 1200 meters above sea level, you've reached the halfway point! And the good news is, after that, it's almost all downhill for you.
You'll then reach the first lake. Lake Heiterwang is nestled directly between the mountains and is ideal for stand-up paddling and swimming. Lake Plansee, the destination of today's tour, is equally impressive. Situated against a stunning mountain backdrop, the lake is definitely worth a visit. Here, you'll cycle along the lake for a good stretch and have plenty of time to enjoy the view. If you want to take a short break or enjoy a coffee, you'll surely find something to eat on the lake's shore!
From here, it's only 20 km until you're back at the hotel. A beautiful descent through the forest awaits you.
Tip: You can also do this tour on an e-mountain bike. This tour is also suitable for families, as the route can easily be shortened. For example, you could only cycle to the waterfall.
