Ski touring in the Allgäu at the Alpspitze
During your winter holiday at the Alpspitze in Nesselwang, you can truly experience a lot. For example, you can strap on your skis right after waking up and make your first moves in the snow. After all, your hotel is located in the Nesselwang ski area—you absolutely have to take advantage of that. But at the Alpspitze in Nesselwang, you can not only ski or snowboard in winter, but also go ski touring.
Every Wednesday evening, the Ski Touring Evening at the Alpspitze in Nesselwang takes place. On this day, the slopes in the Alpspitze ski area are open until 10 p.m. Of course, there are no snow groomers until then, so that all skiers can get back to the valley safely. The highlight of every ski tour is a stop at the Böck Sports Center (open until 10 p.m.).
The ski tour to the Böck Sports Center covers a distance of 3.6 km and takes approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.

Do ski tourers have to register for the evening tour? Nope - you can always start your ski tour on Wednesdays in Nesselwang at the Alpspitze.
Are there specific times you're allowed to be out and about? Nope ;) Just make sure you DO NOT walk on the slopes, but use the marked path.
Do you need headlamps? YES! The floodlights are only on until 9 p.m. and only up to the middle station. So if you want to get down safely, you should definitely bring a headlamp with you on your ski tour at the Alpspitze in Nesselwang.
Ski touring rules - What you need to keep in mind when ski touring
Of course, the "have fun" rule applies here, but your safety is just as important. So take your time and refresh your brain cells with these tips 😉:
- Ski touring is always at your own risk and responsibility.
- Ascents are only permitted along the edge of the slopes; always pay attention to the ski operations.
- In a group, always walk one behind the other, not side by side.
- Remember your headlamp.
- Check the slope conditions and weather conditions.
So, you probably already know that you should bring your touring clothing, touring skis, and touring ski boots. Also remember:
- Climbing skins and crampons
- First aid kit
- Blister plasters and sunscreen
- Ski helmet, ski goggles, and telescopic ski poles
- Snacks and fluids
