If you're spending your vacation in the Zillertal Valley, you absolutely can't miss a visit to the Krimml Waterfalls! After all, with a drop of 385 meters, these are the tallest waterfalls in Europe! Wow! The 4 km long panoramic hiking trail leads you past numerous viewing platforms with unique views of the extraordinary cascades. You can reach the lower waterfall in 20 minutes, the middle waterfall in 45 minutes, and the upper waterfall in about 1.5 hours.
Ready for some action at high altitude? The Gerlos High Ropes Course in the Zillertal Arena has it all! Here, you can test your climbing skills at heights of 10-15 meters. With 65 stations, including 17 flying foxes, action is guaranteed, and the many obstacles will put your skills to the test. Of course, there's a special course for younger guests.

From the Rosenalmbahn mountain station (included in the hike deal), it's a 45-60-minute walk along a dirt road (also accessible with a stroller). The Kreuzjochhütte offers a fantastic view of the Zillertal Valley on a clear day. Explorer Tip: Be sure to try the Kaiserschmarrn! P.S. The hut's playground will delight little explorers, while the grown-ups can relax in the sun.
You might recognize this suspension bridge from social media posts. It's no wonder this spot is so popular. It offers incredible views of the reservoir and the surrounding mountains. The hike to the Olperer Hut is also considered one of the most beautiful hiking trails! From the Explorer Hotel Zillertal, you can reach the starting point in about 50 minutes. The climb to the suspension bridge takes about 1.5 hours.
Summer vacation in the Zillertal. The perfect way to cool off is a must! With a 5,000 m² water surface, the Erlebnistreich Aufenfeld is perfect for hot summer days. Not into splashing around in the water? There's plenty of action on land! Volleyball courts, a skate park, streetball and basketball courts, a trampoline, and two children's playgrounds. We certainly haven't overpromised ;).

Fancy a different kind of summer cool-off? For this experience, however, you'll need a warmer jacket, and long pants would also be a plus. Welcome to the fascinating world of ice! From the Explorer Hotel in Zillertal, you can reach the Hintertux Glacier in 40 minutes by car, then take the cable car up to the top station of the Glacier Bus 3. You can't miss this ice tour!
How about a little calf workout to finish? This moderately difficult bike tour provides you with the best views and doesn't take too long either ;) The tour starts directly from the Explorer Hotel Zillertal in Kaltenbach and takes you via Distelberg to Talblick. Here, you'll enjoy sensational mountain views.
