Discover the 5th stage of the Nockberge Trail in Carinthia!
Not only a breathtaking mountain panorama, numerous encounters with grazing animals, moderate to difficult climbs, but also a climb to a summit! From the Falkertsee to probably the most famous peak of the trail – the Falkert – down to Bad Kleinkirchheim.
You can circumnavigate the Falkertsee, first on its north side and then on its east side. From the southern end of the lake, you hike along trail no. 1591 through the beautiful Sonntagstal valley up to the Falkertscharte.
One of the most famous peaks in the Nockberge - the Falkert (2,308 m) - is worth a detour, and it will only take you about 40 minutes extra!
Back from the summit, take trail no. 1, which descends briefly to the west and then leads below the Moschelitzen (Rödresnock) to the grassy ridge of the Totelitzen. After a while, you'll reach a fork: Here, take the left trail (no. 1), which will lead you directly to a church in the eastern part of Bad Kleinkirchheim
From there, it's only a few minutes' walk, along a few paths, until you reach the thermal baths and thus also the nearby Explorer Hotel! You've made it!
The Nockberge Trail has a total of 8 stages with a total length of around 127.7 km. Enough to really get to know the beautiful landscape of the nature reserve.
You can start the stage from Falkertsee to Bad Kleinkirchheim from the Explorer Hotel Bad Kleinkirchheim or vice versa, as you prefer ;) If you start from the lake, there are parking spaces up at the Falkert near the Marmot Hut!
