From Hintersee to the Schhärtenalm and further to the Blaueishütte
The Schhärtenalm (1,359 m) is located halfway between Hintersee and the Blaueishütte. From there, you have a fantastic view of Hintersee and the surrounding mountains.
Start the tour from the Seeklause parking lot on the eastern shore of Hintersee. You can get there by car or take the RVO bus line to Hintersee/Seeklause stop.
Follow a forest road that leads through the forest. From the southwest end of the parking lot (Seeklause), you reach this path through a game enclosure. After about 100 m, turn sharply left and follow the so-called Seeklausköpfl until the path joins the Blaueis forest road. The trail now climbs, and after two bends, turn left. The trail continues steadily uphill, sometimes with steep bends. If you continue along the path, you will soon reach the Schärtenalm.
Your sundowner tour ends here, and you return the same way.
Would you rather continue to the Blaueishütte?
If you wish, you can extend the tour. From the Schärtenalm, continue west along a flat path. When you reach the so-called Blaueisbankl, a rocky corner, cross the wooden bridge. There is a short climb, and shortly before the valley station of the cable car, turn left. The final stretch continues below the rock faces in switchbacks to your destination: the Blaueishütte (1,651 m).
