The ski tour starts at the parking lot at the Tegelbergbahn in Schwangau. Here, follow the drag lift to the upper station and then turn left. You will now reach the ski slope. Be careful: sometimes it is even groomed, but this is rare, as skiing is only sporadic here.
You have to climb the slope a bit, then you will come to a signposted corner. Now you have the choice: either follow the slope all the way to the top, but this requires good fitness, as some sections are quite steep! Otherwise, choose the ski touring trail at the signpost forest. Both paths meet again at the Rohrkopfhütte. When you've had enough, you can stop here and take a rest and ski down in peace. A stop at the Rohrkopfhütte is also recommended if you walk to the Tegelbergbahn, as it's incredibly rustic and the homemade cakes are definitely worth trying!
If you want to challenge yourself a bit more, continue to the Tegelbergbahn mountain station. Here, it's recommended to take the track/toboggan run on the left through the forest! This is much more pleasant and you'll conserve your energy.
The destination of the tour is the mountain station. Here, you can take off your skis and then enjoy the fun descent.
You should also only attempt this tour when the snow conditions are really good. There are already a few rocks on the slope, so sparks can fly. 😳
PS: Overall, it's a relatively easy ski tour! However, the old ski run is very steep in some places, which can make the descent in untracked terrain a challenge for some.
PPS: If you don't have any equipment yet, you can stop by Sport Luggi at the cable car; you're sure to find the perfect rental gear for your ski tour!
