Seebergkopf: Scenic mountain tour directly from Bayrischzell
Want to get out of the hotel and straight into a mountain adventure? Then the hike to the Seebergkopf is just the thing for you. The starting point at the Seeberg parking lot is right next to the Explorer Hotel Bayrischzell – perfect for anyone who wants to gain altitude without a long drive.
The ascent begins on the “Seeberg via Neuhütte” trail (trail 645) and leads you upwards on a narrow path with many switchbacks through the mountain forest. Beautiful views of the Bavarian Prealps open up again and again – ideal for short breaks with panoramic views. The trail isn't technically difficult, but in some places, due to the steep slope, sure-footedness and a head for heights are required. Passing the St. Joseph's Delicious Spring, you'll reach the alpine meadows of the Neuhütte at 1,232 meters. In summer, you can get drinks and snacks here – a relaxing spot for a first break. The trail continues across meadows and along the Seebergalm, before the final section leads through the mountain forest to the broad summit of the Seebergkopf. At the top, a true pre-alpine panorama awaits: The view stretches from the Breitenstein and Wendelstein mountains across the Sudelfeld to the Traithen. To the south and southwest, you'll also see other well-known peaks such as Rotwand, Hochmiesing, Ruchenköpfe, and Aiplspitz. This is the perfect tour for you if you want to combine varied trails, physical activity, and stunning views in one loop. For refreshments, the Neuhütte or later the Niederhoferalm are ideal stops along the way – perfect for enjoying some sunshine, a snack, and a taste of the mountains after your hike.
