Bike tour for beginners and nature lovers

The bike tour to Saupanzen starts at the parking lot in Lugergraben. This is about 40 minutes by car from the Explorer Hotel.

From there, you'll continue a short distance into the valley, initially on a paved road, until you reach a barrier. Here, the ground then turns into gravel. To find your way around, you should always follow the signs to the Faulbaumgartenalm. Before the beautiful alpine meadows come into view, you have to overcome a steep section. A few switchbacks make the ascent easier. Unfortunately, you won't be able to take a short break, as the path winds steadily up the mountain. After pedaling past the alpine pasture for about 300 meters, you must take the left turnoff to the Feldalm. Continuing your route, you cycle through a beautiful pine forest, past the Stadelkehr Alm, until you reach the highest point of the road.

Have you worked up a sweat? Then you can relax a bit, because from here, the descent is about 60 meters down the mountain to the Feldalm. Here you can park your bike and put on your hiking boots.

Behind the Alm, three different paths branch off. Take the right one and follow the southeast ridge to the Saupanzen. There's a short climb, but then you've reached the summit.

Now it's time to briefly enjoy the view before descending back towards the Alm. Back on your bike, quickly change your shoes and hop back on your bike.

If this is one of your first mountain bike tours, you should return the same way. However, there's also the option of descending via a single trail. This will bring you back to the Lueger Alm, from where the steep descent continues until you reach the paved road again.
