Easy hike for families near the Explorer Hotel Zillertal

The small circular trail with several stops such as the Marienberg Chapel, a small waterfall and a cool forest playground for children.

Hiking on a Family Vacation in the Zillertal Mountains

From the Explorer Hotel in Kaltenbach, it's about a 10-minute drive to the Spieljochbahn cable car parking lot in Fügen.

In front of the Hotel Kohlerhof, turn left and follow the road to the Hotel Bruno. After a left turn, turn right into the forest and continue straight ahead along the path at the intersection of the summer and winter toboggan runs.

When you come to a signpost for a forest playground, turn left and continue until you reach it. After a short break, continue hiking and, after a short climb, reach a bench for a rest.

From there, you have a great view of the outer Fügenberg. After the bench, turn right and follow the path downhill. Turn left once, follow the winding path, then turn right onto the trail that takes you down to the beautiful waterfall.

There, you can enjoy your snack, as you've completed half the hike. Once you reach the bottom, walk right along the panoramic trail. From here, you'll have an impressive view of Fügen.

Once you've reached the residential area, climb the stairs, then briefly turn left onto the street and immediately right up the wooden staircase to the Marienberg Chapel. After a brief visit to the interesting chapel, walk straight ahead along the street past the public restroom and turn right again onto the forest path. After a while, you'll reach the forest path you knew from the outward journey and return to the starting point.
