Schlick 2000 Nature Trail – Family hike in the Stubai Valley
Discover nature, enjoy the views, hike with ease.
Want to get out into the mountains, but without planning a big summit hike? Then the Schlick 2000 nature trail is just what you're looking for. The quickest way to reach the Kreuzjochbahn valley station in Fulpmes from the Explorer Hotel Stubaital is by car: After about 7 kilometers and roughly 12 minutes, you'll arrive at the cable car station. There you can park your car and take the Kreuzjochbahn directly up to the starting point of the hike.
This family-friendly hike starts at the Kreuzjoch mountain station and leads you through Swiss pine forests, mountain pine fields, and alpine scenery to the Schlickeralm. Along the way, you'll find exciting stations, hands-on learning about nature, and stunning views of the Kalkkögel mountains – aptly nicknamed the "North Tyrolean Dolomites".
The trail is particularly exciting for families because children can playfully learn more about plants, animals, and the mountain environment along the way. At the same time, the tour remains pleasantly uncomplicated: the walking time is around 1.5 hours, the trail is considered family-friendly, and according to Stubai Tirol, it's also suitable for strollers. It's exactly the kind of mountain experience that works well for active families: experiencing nature, being out together, and embarking on a genuine excursion without much planning.
