Easy rolling between Bayrischzell and Birkenstein

Get your bike out and go! The Birkenstein Reibn is perfect if you want to discover Bayrischzell on two wheels without having to climb hundreds of meters. The approximately 19.6-kilometer loop takes you from Bayrischzell via Geitau to Birkenstein and then back to your starting point. With only about 204 meters of elevation gain, there's plenty of time to take your eyes off the handlebars now and then.

The ride starts at the tennis courts at Seeberg in Bayrischzell – practically in the corner of your base camp. From there, you'll cycle along a stream towards Geitau. At the foot of Seeberg, the route continues through the open landscape of the Leitzach Valley. The route alternates between asphalt, gravel, and natural paths. Approximately 44% of the route is on asphalt, with the remainder consisting mainly of gravel and natural paths, as well as a small section of trails.

The route continues via Geitau and past the Krugalm towards Fischbachau. Then comes the longer climb of the tour: You pedal up a gravel path through the forest to Birkenstein . Here, roughly halfway through, awaits the highlight of the tour: the famous Birkenstein pilgrimage chapel at the foot of the Breitenstein.

After that, you can loosen up your legs a bit. The route descends back towards Geitau, then via Dorf and Osterhofen finally back to Bayrischzell. You shouldn't expect any technical challenges – the official tour is classified as easy and family-friendly .
