Family Hike with Scavenger Hunt

Orientation and instinct are required here ;-) The starting point is the Almgasthof Baumschlagerberg in Vorderstoder (approx. 12 minutes by car from the Explorer Hotel; you'll find parking just below).

First, take the steep path across the meadow, which leads you to the edge of the forest and thus to the starting point of the scavenger hunt. Here you'll find an overview map and all important information (downloading the app is recommended).

Keep right, and after a short walk across the meadow, you'll reach a forest road. Follow the path until you reach a hilltop-like panoramic ridge.
Just before that, take the path to the right, passing under a rock, and you'll reach the first station, "Courage & Strength.".

Continue left over an embankment back to the forest road. When you reach a large bend, take the shortcut to the left through the forest. Continue along the mountain bike trail and, after a slight climb, turn onto the forest road.
Can you find the hares? They belong to the second station, "Orientation.".

The trail climbs slightly uphill for a short distance and continues toward light wooded areas until you reach a clearing. At the edge of the forest, you will find the touch box and thus the third station, "Sense.". Continue to Steyrsbergerreith. There is an alpine pasture here that invites you to take a break. From there, the trail descends. From the edge of the forest, turn left onto a path and reach the fourth station, "Perspective.".

Follow the path until you reach a gravel road. Passing a hunting stand, you will soon reach a national park sign. Continue left, again onto a forest path, which takes you to the fifth station, "Ingenuity."

Follow the forest path and cross a gravel road, which leads you further into the forest and to the junction leading to Hutberg. The path becomes steeper and leads to a viewpoint, the sixth station, "Endurance."

On the way back from Hutberg, after a right turn, you descend steeply and reach the seventh station, "Marksmanship," the shooting range.

Finally, there's another steep descent to the end of the forest. Here, the scavenger hunt ends at the eighth station, "Wall of Fame."
