Two paths, one destination - the Harschbichl
Well, exactly how many paths lead to Rome is something that's debatable, of course. But if you're spending your vacation in the Kitzbühel Alps, you don't care anyway - at least, it shouldn't ;). Because you have a completely different question, one that hasn't let you sleep well for days and is thus driving your coffee consumption to extremes - how exactly do you get to the famous Harschbichl Trail? Perhaps it's less dramatic...be that as it may, one thing is clear - there are these two paths, and both start at the Explorer Hotel Kitzbühel. So relax, it's all easy 😎 and if your calves want to take it a little easier, simply rent an e-bike directly from the hotel.
Option number one: Behind the hotel, you first follow a moderately steep asphalt path along the summer toboggan run, which later turns into a shady forest path to the mountain lake (mid-station). The path continues past the Angerer Alm to the summit station, where a wonderful panorama awaits you.
Option 2: The ascent takes you from the hotel along the road towards Pointen. After the Buchwies mountain inn, take the next right and you'll reach Option 1 via the forest road (halfway up to the mid-station).Tip from Magnus: Be sure to order the buttermilk Kaiserschmarrn at the Hirschbergalm! Honestly, if you don't do it, it's your own fault. ;)
After every high, there's a low - in a positive sense, of course.
The flowing trail begins below the middle station of the Harschbichlbahn cable car near the reservoir. Here, you'll start off in gentle curves and berms through the forest and pick up some serious speed at the Northshore bridges! P.S. Get ready for some waves; they'll provide you with some real action!
