Hiking to the Rosskopf in the Ötztal with a gigantic panoramic view
There are days when your legs leap out of bed, your backpack is ready, your energy bars are packed, and you're looking forward to the long, exhausting 6-hour hike to the summit and back.
And then there are the other vacation days when you want to sleep in, have a leisurely breakfast, and just let the day take its course. The hike to the Rosskopf is perfect for those days!
After about a 30-minute drive, you reach the valley station of the Acherkogelbahn cable car and take the gondola to the top station of the Acherkogelbahn cable car. From here, follow the wide forest path to the Bielefelder Hütte and continue past the hut on a well-maintained hiking trail to the "Alte Bielefelder Hütte" junction.
Afterward, the trail climbs gently at first, then branches off to the left onto a steep path, which then winds its way up to the Rosskopf (2,399 m). And you're at the top!
Enjoy the breathtaking view before returning the same way. Once you've reached the top station of the Acherkogelbahn cable car, you can reward yourself with a cool refreshment on the large sun terrace and enjoy the view of the Ötztal mountain panorama.
