The via ferrata, with a difficulty rating of B/C, starts at the Isel valley station. There's plenty of parking available here.
If you want to work your way up first, follow the hiking trail to the mountain station. Otherwise, you can shorten the hike and take the cable car up. During the via ferrata, you have two options to join or leave the trail, as it is divided into three sections.
From the mountain station, follow the sign towards the summit for another 20 minutes until you reach the start of the via ferrata. There's also enough space here to put on your via ferrata equipment.
On the trail itself, follow ledges and steep steps to the summit. In the middle of the via ferrata, you'll find the mountain guide plate, two steep steps that form the crux of the route. After the summit, the via ferrata continues to the Iselerscharte. Following the panoramic path for about 10 minutes, you'll reach section 3, which leads to the exit on the Kühgundkopf. From the summit, you'll have a wonderful view of the Alpine foothills, the Mieminger mountain range visible in the distance, and the Gaishorn opposite. The return route follows a path from the Kühgundkopf back to the summit of the Iseler. Stay on the well-marked path until you reach the Iselerbahn mountain station. On the way back to the valley, you'll also pass several huts that invite you to stop for a snack.
