The tour starts at the top station of the Elferbahn cable car. The valley station is just a 5-minute drive from the Explorer Hotel Stubaital.
From there, follow the road east, past the large sundial. At the fork in the path near the drag lift, turn right and climb up the wide forest path, following the signs for "Sonnenweg-Rundwanderweg Elfer". The newly constructed mountain path leads you at a pleasant incline along the eastern slopes of the Elfer, high above the Pinnistal, and further into the valley.
Information boards invite you to take a look and linger. Just above a small hut on the side of the path, you'll come across the Panoramaweg, which leads from the Elferhütte to the Karalm. At the signpost, turn right onto the panoramic path, past numerous information panels about fauna and flora, and descend slightly to the Elferhütte, which is situated in a breathtaking panoramic location north of the Elfer massif.
After a leisurely stop on the magnificent viewing terrace or in the parlor, follow the hut's hiking trail back to the mountain station.
PS: In keeping with the name of this mountain, you'll find the largest walkable equatorial sundial in the Alps at the summit station!
