Winter in Oberstdorf means hitting the slopes! Whether skiing, snowboarding, or telemark skiing, you'll find several kilometers of slopes and modern facilities in the Allgäu mountains.
The two-country ski area of Oberstdorf / Kleinwalsertal offers seven ski areas with a total of 130 kilometers of slopes in the Allgäu and Vorarlberg. These include well-known ski areas such as the Nebelhorn in the heart of Oberstdorf, which boasts Germany's longest valley run. The Fellhorn, in conjunction with the Kanzelwand, offers 36 kilometers of varied slopes.
The Ifen in Kleinwalsertal is one of our favorite mountains, with its wide, family-friendly slopes and challenging Olympic downhill run. With the new lift, you can now spend even more time on the slopes.
The Söllereck is considered a family mountain. Children and beginners are especially well looked after here. Many ski schools offer ski lessons for even the youngest skiers.
We're sure that beginners and advanced skiers alike will find their money's worth in these areas in Germany and Austria!
Snow & Funkparks
Those looking for action and an adrenaline rush in the ski resorts will find easy to intermediate kicker lines and obstacles at the Crystal Peak Funpark on the Fellhorn.
In Riezlern, at the valley station of the Kanzelwandbahn, you'll find the Crystal Ground. Here, experienced park riders will find creative setups and jib lines. In addition to the changing setups, there are also always fun events taking place. Floodlit riding is available in the park on Wednesdays from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The 840-meter-long Funslope on the Fellhorn is suitable even for beginners. Waves, banked turns, fun boxes, and tunnels are fun for everyone!

Other ski areas
The Hörnerbahn in Bolsterlang offers 17 kilometers of slopes, ranging from gentle to steep, in addition to a fantastic view of the Allgäu Alps. The World Cup ski resort in Ofterschwang features a family run and a World Cup run. All skill levels will find something to suit them.
Germany's highest passable mountain pass, the Riedberg Pass, is open even in winter, and at the top you'll find the charming Grasgehren ski area. On the other side of the pass lies Balderschwang, a snow-sure family ski resort with 40 kilometers of slopes.
Early Bird
Our tip for your ski holiday in March & April: Early Bird at Ifen. The cable car takes you up to the top at 7:45 AM, and before you lie grippy, untouched slopes and a wonderful morning atmosphere. We can't imagine a better start to your ski day!

Skiing at the Walmendingerhorn in Kleinwalsertal means "skiing for connoisseurs": In the ski area at the Walmendingerhorn, 15km of slopes are available for beginners and advanced skiers.

Fellhorn/Kanzelwand ski area
Want to ski without limits during your winter holiday in Oberstdorf? Then head to the Fellhorn/Kanzelwand ski area. Here, you'll find three cable cars that take you to the summit of the Fellhorn, as well as the *largest ski area in the Allgäu* with around 36km of slopes.
Ifen Ski Resort
Here, you'll find 25 kilometers of slopes and the challenging Olympic downhill run at the foot of the Ifen, as well as some culinary highlights. Amazing views included!
Balderschwang ski area
Balderschwang is located in a high valley, so you'll find snow-sure conditions well into April on over 40 kilometers of groomed slopes.
Nebelhorn ski area
The Nebelhorn ski area comprises a total of 13 kilometers of slopes and is the highest ski area in the Allgäu. The highlight is the 400-peak view.
Grasgehren / Riedbergerhorn ski area
The snow-sure ski resort of Grasgehren, below the Riedberger Horn in the Allgäu region, offers 11 kilometers of slopes with 5 lifts.
Hörnerbahn-Bolsterlang ski area
At the Hörnerbahn in Bolsterlang, a ski area with 17 kilometers of slopes awaits you, where the whole family can have fun. Here you will find both family-friendly slopes and practice areas for kids, as well as slopes for more experienced skiers.
