To enable you to enjoy a sustainable holiday in the Alps, we not only built the first passive house hotel just outside Oberstdorf, but also put a lot of thought into how we could make our hotel even more sustainable.
At the Explorer Hotel Oberstdorf, we rely on a mix of different energy sources for energy generation, thus maximizing the use of renewable energy.
Solar thermal energy and biogas are used for heating and hot water. Our electricity needs are met by our own rooftop photovoltaic system and green electricity purchases. The share of self-generated electricity is therefore up to 33% over the course of the year.
Since all Explorer Hotels are particularly sustainable, we naturally adhere to many other standards in all our hotels to improve your personal carbon footprint during your holiday.
