To enable you to enjoy a sustainable holiday in the Alps, we not only built the first passive house hotel just outside Oberstdorf, but we also put a lot of thought into how we could make our hotel even more sustainable.
The Explorer Hotel Oberstdorf relies on a mix of different energy sources for energy generation, thus maximizing the use of renewable energy. Solar thermal energy and green gas are used to generate heat and hot water. Our electricity needs are met by our own PV system on the roof and by purchasing green electricity. The proportion of self-generated electricity is thus up to 33% over the entire year.
Since all Explorer Hotels are particularly sustainable, there are naturally many other green standards that we pursue in all hotels to improve your personal carbon footprint while on vacation.
