In the heart of Oberstdorf, you'll find the valley station of the modernized Nebelhornbahn cable car.
Divided into three sections, the 10-person gondola takes you via the Seealpe station to the Höfatsblick mountain station. A large cabin takes you to the summit.
The place to be on your winter vacation in the Allgäu: At the summit of the Nebelhorn, at over 2,000 meters above sea level, a breathtaking view of 400 peaks awaits you – and on a clear day, you can even see the Zugspitze from here. Before you strap on your skis, don't miss the Nordwandsteig circular trail and then let the winter sun shine on your face on the sun terrace ;)
And now, enough relaxing. You can choose between easy beginner slopes or exciting red and black runs on 13 kilometers of slopes. Or how about Germany's longest valley run on the Nebelhorn? For beginners, the drag lift at the Seealpe is recommended.
Here are the ski area facts again:
- 13 kilometers of slopes
- Highest ski area in the Allgäu
- Varied slopes
- 7.5 km long valley run
- Top views of 400 peaks
If you're out and about without skis or a board, the winter hiking trail to Zeigersattel is worth a try. It starts at the Höfatsblick station and offers a phenomenal view of Lake Seealp. So, for this hot tip, we get at least one #ExplorerMoment, okay? ;)
In winter, the Seealpe station also houses the NTC Park, with zip line racers, ski boots, and other fun sports equipment that you can rent here.
If all this winter action makes your stomach rumble, there are refreshment stops at all Nebelhornbahn stations. The food tastes especially good at the summit restaurant with the stunning winter panorama all around.
You can also conveniently park your car in the Nebelhornbahn parking lot.
