The special nature of the Wilder Kaiser
Together with the Zahmer Kaiser, the Wilder Kaiser forms the Kaiser Mountains in Tyrol. The region around the Kaiser towns of Ellmau, Going, Scheffau, and Söll is also called this and, of course, owes its name to the mountain range. But where does the name Wilder Kaiser come from? Opinions differ, as there are many theories about the origin of the name. Many legends surround it. This gives the mountain range a mystical aura. But perhaps the mountain range is simply called that because its shape, with its wild rocky peaks, resembles an imperial crown? ;)
With these striking rock formations, the Wilder Kaiser is a real eye-catcher. You also have a fantastic view of the mountain range from the Explorer Hotel Kitzbühel in Tyrol.
The Wilder Kaiser is not only known from the series "The Mountain Doctor" but has also been a climbing hotspot in Europe for 200 years. The mountain range is also ideal for hiking and skiing.
