A week's winter holiday in Hinterstoder
Day 1 - Off to the slopes!
First day – a perfect experience. Your legs are already tingling with anticipation, and you can hardly wait to finally be on the mountain? Whether on two or one ski, for powder or simply relaxing. In the Hinterstoder World Cup Region, over 60 kilometers of slopes await just for you. After breakfast, you can get started right away, because the Explorer Hotel is located right at the valley station of the Hinterstoder Höss ski area. It couldn't be more convenient, right? ;)
Day 2 - Free as a...
...bird. Today you'll experience the mountains of Hinterstoder from a new perspective. With the Hinterstoder Flight School, you'll glide through the skies – boundless expanses and snow-capped mountains. If you haven't already fallen in love with the region, you'll definitely feel butterflies in your stomach by now.😍
Day 3 - Just like in the good old days
Somehow, tobogganing always brings back memories of your childhood, doesn't it? Day and night, you can enjoy a thrilling toboggan run on the Loigistal natural toboggan run and relive those memories. Afterwards, warm up at the Explorer Hotel bar. Whether with a hot chocolate—just like in the old days—or, like a grown-up, with a gin ;) Look forward to the perfect end to the day!
Day 4 - Fun on the trail
Don't feel like taking the cable car today? Then a cross-country ski tour in the Hinterstoder Valley is just the thing for you. The 25 km long valley trail starts practically right outside the Explorer Hotel, making it ideal for all cross-country skiing beginners. Swap your alpine skis for cross-country skis for a day. A change is good for your muscles, too ;)
Day 5 - Active & Enjoyment
Hearty dumplings, Linzer Torte, Kaiserschmarrn, and sweet strudel... is your mouth already watering just reading this? 😋
Everything tastes even better after a hike. A snowshoe hike in winter is the perfect option. Guided tours are also offered regularly. First, stomp through the deep snow and then sample the specialties of Upper Austria. How about that?
Day 6 - a little culture in between
A visit to the Schiederweiher lake is an absolute must in both winter and summer! From Hinterstoder, take the path along the Steyr River to this scenic highlight. Back in Hinterstoder, a visit to the Alpineum is also worthwhile – in this museum, you'll learn fascinating facts about the history of mountaineering.
Day 7 - Skiing just "differently"
Welcome to the ski touring paradise of Hinterstoder. That's right, the Totes Gebirge and Sengsengebirge mountains are ideal for all winter summiteers. We promise, your heart rate will race on the way up. 😎 But the effort is so worth it. The descent is mostly on unprepared slopes over deep snow. A dream, see for yourself!
