MTB Tour World Cup Route "Carinthia-Franz Klammer"
This route has nothing to do with skiing, but with one of the most famous names in the World Cup scene - Franz Klammer. There'll be more time for general knowledge later, but first, you should get your bike ready - for what is probably the most famous MTB tour in Carinthia.
The start is at the Explorer Hotel Bad Kleinkirchheim - from here, you cycle along Tiefenbachstraße towards the Römerbad thermal baths. Shortly after the Römerbad parking lot, turn left onto Brucknerweg and follow it to the Maibrunnerweg.
This path takes you to the Unterwirt Hüttn and later to the Maibrunn mountain station. Shortly after, the trail becomes very steep for a short stretch - you can either use this as an opportunity for extra calf training or quietly dismount, push your bike, and enjoy the view.
After this section, continue towards the Strohsack mountain station and past the Rossalmhütte. Continue down the Kaiserburg forest road to the middle station, from there to the starting point towards the valley, and finally to the Explorer Bar for a cool refreshment.
General knowledge - as promised ;)
Of course, in short: For your name to be associated with a World Cup course, you have to have achieved quite a bit - for example, becoming the downhill winner for the 25th time. So, as you can see, you're following in the footsteps of a true legend. Perhaps this thought will motivate you if you get out of breath during the ride. :)
