It starts at the valley station of the Serlesbahn cable car! It's only a 10-minute drive away.
First, follow the trail east to the edge of the forest. Where the trail turns south, head straight into the forest. The trail slopes diagonally downhill on a wide forest path to the Zirkenbach stream. From here, continue south, along the stream and past the Zirkenhof farm, into the idyllic Wassertal valley. The trail now climbs gently, leading through the forest up to a forest road (a cross-country ski trail from the Ochsenhütte also runs here). Turn left briefly and then directly through the "Kasern," a clearing, up to a treeless saddle. Here, follow the signs along the fence to the right, and you're at the summit cross of the Waldrasterjöchl!
The descent leads through the ski area, making the tour perfect for skiers who aren't yet confident off-piste!
pssst: a great alternative for days with avalanche danger, as the tour largely leads through the forest! However, you shouldn't leave the secured ski area without an avalanche transceiver and the appropriate knowledge! 🤫
