Hiking to the Versalspitze via the Tafamuntbahn in the Verwall Mountains
The hike starts at the valley station of the Tafamuntbahn in the beautiful Montafon. You take the cable car up to the mountain station (1700 m).
You can also exit at the mid-station. There is a direct hiking trail between the mid-station and the mountain station. The cable car operator will only go to the mountain station if you request it and hike to the Versalspitze.
After a relatively steep climb, you continue to a high plateau. Once there, you walk flatly towards the Jöchli and continue to the Versalspitze (2462 m). You will always see the Versalspitze from a distance, always on your right.
From the Versalspitze, you have a beautiful view of the Verwall Group and the Hochmontafon.
As an added bonus, it's possible to hike to the Tavamunter Augstenberg (2489 m), which lies opposite on the other side of the Jöchli.
From now on, the trail continues downhill over the Jöchli and alpine meadows to the Alpe Verbella (1941 m), after which the path is fairly flat to the high moor and Wiegensee.
At Wiegensee, there are some benches and loungers where you can relax. Continue past numerous blueberry bushes to the middle station of the Tafamuntbahn cable car (1535 m). From there, take the cable car back down to the valley.
