From Fischen via Obermaiselstein to Sonthofen via Rubi and Oberstdorf

The road bike tour starts and ends at the Explorer Hotel Oberstdorf.

The tour starts at the Explorer Hotel Oberstdorf. From there, you ride along the bike path towards Tiefenbach. Once you reach the main road, you continue up the mountain, past the Oberstdorf Hostel, and continue until you reach the bike path again at the edge of town.

The road bike rides across the fields and past the Hirschsprung spring, then back down the mountain on the road. Shortly after the Obermaiselstein town sign, a bike path turns left into the meadows. Follow this until you reach the main road again in Obermaiselstein. After about 500m, turn left and head towards the Riedberg Pass - but don't worry ;-) that's not on the agenda today.

Shortly before the tunnel, turn right over a bridge and then up a slight incline towards Bolsterlang. Here, keep left and continue along the main road. You'll pass through Kierwang, Sigiswang, and finally arrive in Ofterschwang. Continue straight ahead, leaving the town and speeding down the mountain. Be careful, just before the end of the descent, a path branches off to the left towards Bettenried. Follow this path through forests and meadows to Bihlerdorf.

There, turn left onto the main road and continue on the bike path to Blaichach. There, take the first right-branching road and cycle through the residential area to the bridge, which will take you over the Iller River and the B19 to Burgberg.

From here, you can either start your return journey on your racing bike or, as in our example, extend the tour with a detour.

The return route via Winkel, Altstädten, and Schöllang by racing bike

Back in Burgberg, cycle towards Sonthofen. Shortly before leaving Burgberg, turn left onto the road towards Winkel. From there, you will reach Sonthofen.

To the left, past the Wonnemar, a cycle path leads you to Altstädten, and from there, over the railway tracks, along the country road to Unterthalhofen and Oberthalhofen. Once there, turn left and ride over a short pass to Schöllang. The bike paths lead to Reichenbach, where you switch to the main road and cycle via Rubi to Oberstdorf. Stay on the main road until you reach the roundabout, where you turn right onto the bike path back to the Explorer Hotel.
