Hochkreuth loop: Get in, find your rhythm, let it flow
Want to get into the trail running flow? Then the Hochkreuth loop is perfect. From Bayrischzell, the route initially follows the Larchbach stream before the Hochkreuth Steigerl trail winds its way up through the forest. The climb is a bit challenging, but manageable, and the reward awaits you at the top of the plateau: unobstructed views towards the Wendelstein mountain and pleasantly runnable natural paths .
From Hochkreuth onwards, the route becomes more relaxed. On meadow and gravel paths, you can pick up speed and really enjoy the run. Passing the Zeller Alm, you'll encounter varied trail sections , the Grünen Gumpe (Green Pool), and a waterfall before descending again towards Bayrischzell. It's the perfect mix of climbs, views, and downhill sections if you want to try trail running or simply enjoy a relaxed run with a mountain feel.
