The tour starts at the Olympic Stadium in Garmisch-Partenkirchen. If you don't want to take public transportation to the starting point, it can be reached on foot in about 40 minutes.
Once you reach the Partnach Gorge, follow the path past steep rock faces and roaring water masses. It can get quite wet here at times, so pack your rain jacket and waterproof clothing.
You follow the Partnach River to the exit of the gorge, then continue to the Partnachalm, where a beautiful view of the Wetterstein Mountains awaits you.
Once you arrive at the Rießersee, you'll also have a unique view of the Kleiner and Großer Waxenstein and the Alpspitze. If visibility is good, you can even see the Zugspitze!
At the Rießersee itself, you have the option of extending the tour and taking a detour to the historic 1936 Olympic bobsleigh track.
Tip: Don't forget your flashlight; it can get a bit dark in the gorge ;)
