Beautiful hiking tour along the Matschun Ridge Trail to the Madrisellaspitze in Vorarlberg
From the Versettla mountain station in Gaschurn, the trail climbs steeply and rockily up to the castle and from there directly to the Versettla, the first viewpoint.
You continue hiking and eventually reach the wide, grassy Versettla plateau with its great views and follow the Matschun Ridge Trail.
First, you follow a nearly flat ridge and finally, over a final steep climb, you reach the highest point of the tour, the summit cross of the Madrisella (2,466 m).
Here you can enjoy a magnificent view of the Silvretta Nova. At the end of the short descent from Madrisella, you'll reach the hiking trail that also bypasses the summit.
On the way back, you'll see many lakes and an unforgettable panorama on the narrow mountain path. You can descend via the Novatal valley below the Matschunerjoch pass into the Novatal valley, dominated by the Heimspitze peak, and then down to Lake Sere.
You'll reach Alp Nova along the mountain stream and choose the descent via Garfrescha. From Alp Nova, the descent to Garfrescha takes approximately 30 minutes. The chairlift will take you back to the valley. (Last descent: 5:15 p.m.) The bus will take you back to the Explorer Hotel in Gaschurn.
