Via Ferrata for Beginners near the Explorer Hotel Hinterstoder
Do you have no experience with via ferratas but would like to try it out?
Then the Hans Ruebenzucker Trail is ideal for you. If you're vacationing with your family, that's no problem either, as the trail is also suitable for children.
The trail starts right in the center of Hinterstoder. You have two options for getting to the starting point. You can either take hiking trail 217, which runs over the ski slopes to the Hutterer Höß and from there to the starting point of the via ferrata, or you can take the easier route. You can also take the lift up to the Höß. This option shortens the ascent by about an hour. You should allow a total of
2 hours for the ascent to the via ferrata.
From the start, you climb over blocks (A/B) to a spread-leg (A/B). Then, you mostly stay slightly east of the ridge (A) to the exit. The climbing time on the route is approximately 15 minutes.
You should allow approximately 2 hours for the descent. It is the same as the ascent. There is also the option of descending via the Hochmölbing or the Warscheneck. However, both routes are several hours longer and do not lead back to the Hutterer Böden.
You must also use a via ferrata set for this beginner's tour! You can rent one from a climbing school for a small fee.
