From the Explorer Hotel Kitzbühel to the Kaiserradrunde

Gravel Bike Tour around the Wilder Kaiser

The starting point is the Explorer Hotel Kitzbühel in St. Johann. You can ride the tour clockwise or counterclockwise. And if you prefer a little assistance instead of a gravel bike: The hotel has high-quality e-bikes from Giant available.

From the hotel, the route passes "Moor & more," a renaturalized moorland landscape with adventure trails, toward Going, where you'll find one of the most beautiful swimming lakes. You will then pass the valley station of the Astbergbahn cable car, just before Ellmau: Here, you will pass the highest point of the bike tour at 806 m.

If you are a secret fan of the ZDF series "Der Bergdoktor" (The Mountain Doctor), then in Ellmau, YOUR chance has come to see the filming locations of the series ;) If you can tear yourself away from there, hop back on your bike and continue to Scheffau am Wilden Kaiser, along the Weißache and Route 348, to Söll, and then along the Inn to Kufstein.

In Kufstein, you can take a stroll and enjoy a well-deserved lunch in the old town, or explore the fortress in Kufstein.

Well-fortified, you continue to Ebbs and along of Lake Walchsee to Kössen.
Our tip: Lake Walchsee is a super idyllic mountain lake and invites you to take a refreshing dip in the summer - so don't forget your towel ;)

Then it's off to Erpfendorf. Before you're almost back on the home stretch to St. Johann, you'll cycle along the banks of the Großache River through Kirchdorf and through Leukental back to the starting point.

Our conclusion: A truly varied tour over gravel, forest paths, and paved roads with numerous scenic highlights. So, get your gravel bike or mountain bike ready and let's go, right?
